Hello everyone

The Sag won't start this morning. I turn the key there's like a machine gun noise, click click click click click and the dials go bonkers. Any thoughts please?

Do you have it on an Accumate ? Can you put it on charge ? Mines showing 12v now and is OK.
Maybe worth checking the alternator is charging and nothing else is draining the battery. Since my cars are garaged I always leave them unalarmed with a window open smile .
Just remembered when I had my Sag, it would prime the fuel pump and turning the key did would just go click, 2nd time I tried it would start, like a sticking relay somewhere, sold the car before I bottomed the problem....probably lack of use smile

Thanks for the replies everyone.

It was on a timed trickle charge as lost faith with smart chargers but it seems the battery still drains. When not in use the alarm is off... Any idea how to test if anything else is discharging the battery?

If you've still got a smart charger then it's worth letting that go through it's full charging/conditioning cycle. Might still be fine!

Either way, that's a flat battery and a jump start will see you right.

How old is your battery?

My battery lasts about 2 weeks with minimal load, alarm off etc. I have to say a cheapish smart charger has worked well for me and I leave it plugged in via the Anderson connector if I know I'm not going to use the car for a few days.

The battery is only a year old.. I use a CTEK MXS 3.6 charger but have it on a timer which comes on 4 times a week for a few hours.. Maybe that's screwed it then?

I managed to fire her up after being on charge for about 5 hours but then she died again as I watched the volts drop to 8 after about 5 minutes of running (At the time I was trying to turn off the rear flog lights as they were permanently on even though turned off, so was switching head lights on/off, indicators etc. hoping to eventually find a combination to turn the fogs off too..) confused

Also just noticed the charger is red hot!!! so have turned it off.

I would be tempted to disconnect the battery completely and get an expert to look at it, the last thing you want is an electrical fire, or you could get Tyresmoke but with a £60-70k car , I'd prefer an expert smile .
Something might be shorting out ,charge it off the car and see if it holds the charge.

Rear fog lights being permanently on sounds very strange. Definitely get it to an expert.

I had the dash go off - although the alarm, and everything else worked. You could start and stop the car.

The fog light was permenantly on though. As was the a/c and the exchanger iced up.

It fixed itself - that is the dash turned back on. The fog light went out and the a/c turned off.

Battery was fine.

Wasn't able to recreate or trace the cause.
