Power steering relay holder
Discussion
Hi,
now there are some very knowledgeable electrical type people here, I am hoping somebody can help me.
I need to build a new cable that runs from the battery to the power steering pump.
What Iam looking for is where to buy the plug the relay fits into and the wiring of the cable.
I am afraid I dont have anything for reference only the odd picture of said cable off the net.
Ideally a diagram would be most welcomed.
Thanks

Get yourself a copy of the Tamora electrical diagrams and that'll tell you almost all you need about the wiring/circuit. Downloadable from the TVRCC website members area (if you're a member, along with the Graham Varley bible), or can be found if you do a bit of googling for it if not a member.
Not sure about the plug the relay fits into etc I'm afraid.

Seems the relay holder or should I say socket is just a standard socket housed in a waterproof holder so no worries there.
Iam just trying to locate the correct plug for the PAS pump connection, looked at superseal and some molex types but no luck.
The plug has markings on it "MXG", but no real use to me other than finding I think an AMP series connector with a similar code which isnt it.
Perhaps I should remove the existing new connector and grab a male/female compatible one ? but which one
thoughts welcome
Saxo, did a conversion on the Tuscan. didn't bother with the ECU to control the pump, used the alternator D+ (I think) to fire a relay that has permanent live via an inline fuse, think 35A??, from the starter positive. All neat and simple. See my post about 5 years back, I get the alternator terminals confused but you'll figure it out. Nice beefy relay and heat shrink it up. Jobs a goodun. get a bracket from TVR Parts and the top part of the Saxo mounting will work, make sure you get the rubber mountings with the pump.
