Just picked up the T350 this week from a fabulous retrim by Dave the Trimmer. Very VERY pleased with it.

Part of the refit was a new glove box hinge from a much earlier thread on here. The new hinge was so good that the springs popped the lid open at the first bump in the road. No amount of adjustment of the steel washer which connects with the magnet would hold it down.

A very good suggestion from Dave was to reverse the springs. Fiddly but doable. So now it snaps shut rather than pops open. Suits me just fine as access to the cubby is pretty occasional.

Just thought I’d share…

That certainly sounds a good idea, I have seen it suggested on earlier threads too.
My personal solution was to fit a stronger magnet, which also works! smile

There seems to be an oversight here. You mentioned a retrim and didn’t include pictures. Chop chop.

I have fitted two in the last few days and I need to re-visit the 1st one to replace the OE magnet. (sorry about the sound effects, my mate leaving as I took the video). I am making a new inner cover ATM copying mine as the one on my mates car has been/is broken. (if you click on the picture for the video) Both sprung to open. A@

ALSO...Does anyone have a glue to the name of the Grey that is on the glove box (the matching trim is the lighter Portland) but I need to recover the glove box lid.

This is the first one, it is shimmed and side loaded up on the modified OE springs it just does not have the 'snap' closing that mine has without the new magnet. BUT also it does not have the weight of the leather and inner liner, so has bigger gaps. (I will replace the magnet). Click on the picture for the video. Sprung to open. A@
