Aircon - is it really needed on a Tamora ?

On a Cerbera - you MUST have it, it gets too hot
in there - also un-sellable without it.

In my experience - TVR convertibles don't really need it ... does the AJP six cylinder put more heat into the cabin than the Rover engined cars like the Griff / Chimp.

What do you owners think : needs it
or save your money ?

This is a very interesting point. 90% of the time you really don't need it. However, the heat soak from the Speed six engine is much more than the Rover V8 in my old Griffith. In Le Mans this year it was unbearable even with the roof down. I would say yes, if you can afford it then get it. If you are on a limited budget then almost £2000 is a lot of money. The stupid thing is that if TVR offered it for say £995, then almost everyone would have it. Like most people though I looked at the price (£1930 inc vat) and thought "I'm not paying that, it's a bloody rip-off!!"

I second Flashers comments and add that on mornings like today the aircon is an absolute blessing with condensation on these damp mornings

Agree that on the odd really hot day that we get once a year air-con would be nice but it's hardly a necessity.
It's never even crossed my mind on a winter morning that air-con would help demist the screen. The heater does that in no time.
C'mon guys lets not make second hand Tamoras with no air-con unsellable!

Thanks for the comments guys - dealers were suggesting
that its a necessity... I don't think so !!

I think they are trying to sell the aircon as a 'must have' extra.

Like you say Flasher - 2K is a lot for an on/off buttoned air con system. 1 K would be OK and as for demisting in the morning - just open both the windows
about 1 inch and put the heater on full / hot/ screen.

It works in all cars - TVR's included... sorry for stating what probably everyone knows.

like I said, there are only a handful of days in the year when I would use it. No way is it a neccessity, infact it's an expensive, unnecessary luxury. I can think of better things to spend £2000 on....

I was in no way suggesting it is a necessity, it isnt.

I just pointed out it can have other uses on days like today where yes opening the windows an inch and blower/heater works, if you want a shower, even with the small gap in the window.

You pays your money .......

I had a 40 min test drive in the Tamora on Saturday
**WOW** what a car - I cannot believe how much better
it is than the Tuscan.

I was never happy with the test drives I had in a Tuscan and thought my Griff 500 was better but the
Tamora is a real drivers car.

For all you guys that have one - you have a great car !!

I managed to red line several times (around 7800) and
even had it sideways when I dropped to second for an overtake.

I'll say it again - wow what a car but will I get one..
not quite sure .. probably not - as there is something else very special for sale... on the Wedge front !
