The head unit in my newly acquired Tamora was flip out screen with sat-nav on a dvd, FM/AM radio and I had to enter the code every time I connected Bluetooth. Apparently it was about £1k back in 2007 but not really enough for me.
New 6x9', a cheap domestic DAB aerial and a second hand single din multimedia head unit with detachable 9" screen.
This is the result.

Why? It just looks like an afterthought screen stuck onto the dash like every other car these days from BMWs to Mercs to Hyundais, and they don't get stolen.
And if you were a thief, wouldn't you want to nick one from a brand new Merc or BM rather than some funny old sports car? The car will be nearly 20 years old and they will think that the screen will be too, and therefore worthless.

That looks good. The Tamora, Tuscan and even the Cerbera are a lot easier to fit stuff in than the Chimaera. I have a Pioneer AA/Carplay unit with a flip out screen as I need to be able to access my heater controls from time to time. The 6x9's though work really well in a TVR, the bulkhead is a really solid and pretty acoustically dead mounting place. I have an amp running mine (only a small one mind) and use them as a pair of subs (LP filter running) they really do kick if you turn it up.
