I'm changing my starter motor and upgrading to the higher power long bodied motor as fitted to later cars. I've seen plenty of threads about how to modify the existing bracketry, which includes dismantling the starter motor. I can't believe the factory did this so I'm curious to know how the factory supported the airbox with the long starter.
I've seen some mention of a bracket mounted on the coil pack.
Any descriptions or photos would be much appreciated.

Simply remove the 2 long bolts and fit the existing triangualr plate to the back of the motor. Then remount the airbox bracket to the back of the plate using standoffs to send it back by the difference in motor lengths. Thats all there is to it.
