Hi

Can anyone tell me if they have the same problem as I do.
I have a Tamora and she has always started first time but if I go for a long run and the engine is hot and I stall the car the starter motor struggles to turn the car over.
Do I need a new starter motor or is there other issues I need to look at ?

Please don't tell me not to stall it I know.

Chris, think I posted on Speed 6 forum previously.

Had similar issue. Started by renewing main cable from battery to starter, which helped, but still had residual niggles.

I subsequently got exchange Bosch starter from my local motor factors ~ about £100, and sorted now. So yes, renew starter motor.

Do you know if you have the short (1.4kW) or long (1.7kw) starter motor?

I have exactly the same problem with my Sag. I mentioned it when I had the car serviced early this year and the garage replaced the starter motor and solenoid, which I hoped had fixed the problem. I stalled the car on Sunday and the stater struggled but not as badly as before. Thankfully the car has never not started and I have found that if you leave it for a few seconds it turns over as it should, even so it's a worrying niggle when the car is hot.
I have never had the problem when I switch the car of and restart it, so wonder if it is something to do with the state the engine is initially left in after it stalls.

Thanks for the help

I am happy to know its not just my car.

I will have a talk to Steve at SD autotec next time I am in there.
