Almost back in a TVR
Discussion
After a few years in a Porsche 996 C4, I am almost back in a TVR. I say almost as I put a deposit on this car from James Agger a few weeks ago.
This was the photo taken before they started work on it. I have never actually seen the car on its wheels.
and this is what it was like when I last went to see it a week ago.
It is almost ready to pick up, having had a long list of work carried out including full suspension refresh (arms, shocks, springs, ARB, bushes), new discs and pads, wheel refurb, new clutch, interior refresh, 12k service and loads of other work.
I have not even sat in the car yet or heard it fire into life as it was in bits on the ramps when I put the deposit down and has been in various stages of readiness each time I call in to see the car and James.
I previously had an S3 and then a Chimaera 500 before the Porsche.

Very nice
Ask them to get rid of that blue crush-on eyelet terminal, it needs to be a proper crimped or soldered terminal
Does look like that blue crush-on terminal may have been used to earth the lambda sensors
Thanks, I will have a look at that when I next go and look at the car. Should the earth from the heater be separated from the sensor earth?Ask them to get rid of that blue crush-on eyelet terminal, it needs to be a proper crimped or soldered terminal

Wow, you prefer an almost new car instead a used one, I guess!
Looks very nice!
The amount of stuff being replaced made the car very appealing, and there is not much left to replace now. The roof will need doing in the next few years but other than MOT and servicing I hope to have a relatively cheap time with the car which will be nice after the money my 996 C4 absorbed in 2 years.Looks very nice!
I actually went to look at the silver T350, which is also very nice and I am surprised has not sold already, but the Tamora was there on the ramps in bits asking to be snapped up.

That crush-on connector could be earthing the heaters?????????
Yep, Pen, the earlier 3-wire lambdas relied on earthing back through the ECU.This (4-wire) allows a more positive earth...no pun/oxymoron intended!!
Nick.
