My 2004 T350 needs a new battery. I'm thinking about changing the battery type to one where the positive and negative terminals are switched over so the positive post is not on the chassis side.
Does anyone have experience with this? Will the existing cables reach?
The battery I am considering is a YBX5068 YUASA

My 2006 Tuscan vert was always fitted with a battery with the terminals that way round ... are you sure someone in the past didn't fit the incorrect battery ?
My original battery was a Banner but I've always fitted BOSCH .

I saw a Graham Varley post which suggested the factory changed the battery orientation from sept 2005 onwards. I don't know if that applies to all models or just the Sagaris. I thought positive terminal on the chassis side was the normal configuration prior to that.

"Yuasa type 069 up to approx Sept 05 build,

General duty 036 round post after Sept 05 build

But check the base lugs that hold the battery in place as they can and do differ

Modify a pre sept 05 build to suit moving +ve away from chassis on early models, using revised wiring harness"
