Tamora Clutch Life
Discussion
Having previously owned 3 chimaera and fancying a return to tvr ownership I've started thinking about a Tamora.
Having read a buying guide and a couple of other articles I'm a bit concerned about clutch life.
Is 20 to 25k miles really the expectation for a clutch?
I know driving style can have an effect so assuming reasonable driving, how long should a clutch last?
I'd hate to be hit with a big bill shortly after purchase.
Any other pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I had a new clutch assembly about 50K miles ago on my Tuscan.
Friction plates still seem OK, - it doesn't slip! (Touching wood) I haven't had issues with gear selection,,, so assuming diaphragm plate is holding up too.
I did have a problem whilst driving to STR8Six a few years ago for service, when the slave seals blew and I had to stall the engine on the brakes driving into the yard!!
New seals sorted that

Thanks for the responses folks, it sounds like they're not quite as fragile and he article I read would suggest.
Clutches can be a complete lottery on the Speed 6, have had them fail at 20k miles due to broken fingers, current Tam is on 37k miles and no problems so far, last time I paid for a full clutch and slave refurb the bill came to just over £1400, the dealer reimbursed me in full as the car was less than one month old worth asking the question when/if etc if you have a specific car in mind Gassing Station | Tamora, T350 & Sagaris | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
