My front screen is starting to look a little tatty around the edges with the black paint, which seems to be used, discolouring. Some may say 'delaminating', but I'm not sure that it is physical delamintion. Anyway, it is starting to annoy me and I am interested in some feedback on these two options...

1. New screen - how easy, relative cost and who to trust to do this.
2. screenedge.co.uk - plastic film that you apply over and around the edge of the windscreen to hide the offending areas.

With the first option,I can see that a replacement screen is available from TVR parts, but is noted as normally only a collection item.
With the second option, I am a little wary that a 'perfect' finish will be difficult to achieve.

Any info / experience appreciated.

Thanks,
Gary.

I have the 2nd option on my Sagaris rear windows (not sure of the brand, but basically a black sticker to mimic the border), which is only really noticeable if you get up close to the car. I would say it is a fairly good solution, as no one else has noticed /commented on it (been over 8 months). Though saying all that I am looking to completely replace the rear windows as I am a perfectionist haha

Garry - can not offer too much advice but for mine had a new screen just before I bought it. I was down at TVRSSW having some work and so I understand an independant fitter came in to do it. Did a good job. I guess Colin of TVRSSW knows who fitted it.

Mine cracked a few years back; replaced by autoglass under my windscreen insurance.
1) getting it out is a b%tch of a job; They cut my dash with the cheese wire.
2) once it was out; the flat steel plates (on the A pillars) were really rusty so I had to stop the replacement while I sourced some replacements

Thanks for the replies - yes, Glassman is now familiar having read that somewhere in the distant past.

I'm in NI - anyone have any good feedback on someone local?

2k paint is durable and not that easy to get off any surface once it's on properly.

Getting a new windscreen is easier now that TVR Parts have stock. Getting the right man/people to fit it is the key.

Where in NI?

Had the windscreen replaced on my 2003 T350 and the body shop said the first screen they'd ordered (later version based on the March 03 build date, common to sagaris) wouldn't fit so they ordered the early version.
Still they found it wouldn't fit properly.
From this experience I would only replace a screen that is cracked and not change for cosmetic reasons.

Hi, I'm in Holywood, Co. Down. Maybe I should think about travelling to get this done by someone like you once travel is back on the cards. It's not urgent as purely cosmetic and not cracked as per previous poster.
