Fuse 28 is fine, no obvious corrosion to the controller plug, but POD screen 5 shows PR as 'off' and CL alsi 'off' even though the blue led illuminates on the heater controller.

Engine off the whirr happens when the fan is switched on but no click for aircon engaging with engine on or off.

Radiator fans only on above 96 degrees as normal.

I'm guessing the compressor is dead?

Man it was hot in the cabin yesterday!

If the system pressure is low then the control wont command it to come on, so you could check the feed to the compressor to see if it is getting it's live there. if it is and it will not spin up then it's probably the clutch at the front that's at fault.

Thanks. It was regassed last summer when the unit was working but not cold, so was hoping it was not pressure related. I'll ask DG to check the feed and go from there then.

I find that aircon systems not used for long periods over the winter tend to lose their gas.
I would start by taking it to KwitFit or ATS and having the gas recharged. No cold air, no fee at places like that.
So if your compressor won't cut in with the gas definitely full, at least you have diagnosed it for free.
Just make a show of noting the mileage when you leave it with them so that nobody is temped to "road test" the aircon.

All done - 2 things. We intended to have it regassed in 2018 but ran out of time for it through some unplanned work required to unstick the accelerator... So not so bad getting 10 years out of it. Just needed a regas. No leak found after a 25 minute vacuum test. Fingers crossed.
