T350 Cam Cover Colour

Hi Everyone,

I've just bought a T350T after over eight years of very enjoyable Chimaera ownership. (The Chimaera is up for sale on PH if anyone is after a very well sorted (reliable) Chimaera 450) I've made the step up, time will tell if it's the right decision!

Time for the first numpty question: I see a number of cars have red cam covers on the S6 engine, although many of the originals are silver. Is there a difference, other than preference? Does the red cover denote a different spec? Were red covers a factory fit or a later change by individual owners?

For definite I can say Sagaris's came with red cam covers from the factory and the Mk1 Tuscans and S6 Cerberas were silver, as I've owned those models. I know many owners of Tuscans and other S6 models have changed to red and indeed other colours, but not sure if any others were red from the factory.

Newer covers had extra bits on the casting to drip oil onto the fingers? Just because it's red makes no difference, I had mine swapped out for a newly painted red cover a few years back
