So why is my plate in demand? I have been asked twice in the last year if I want to sell it, consider the car has been out only four times and on the drive for a day twice in the last year, oh yep plus a motty trip. I don’t really get it, I know I wanted it badly but only because it went well on the sag but it seems to be worth more to others. I thought the whole reg plate thing was hype but the second offer stopped me breathing for a moment. Anyone else had this?
Wouldn’t have posted but I was a bit worried when I spotted the same reg on two different cars being sold on the bid if you dare market place on the web, thing was one was a scam but used the genuine reg car combo courtesy of pics from the web the other was a genuine ad but suspect the car wasn’t. Anyway reported what I spotted so that was that. Happy in the armchair with dog asleep next to me until I thought what if..... wake up Gromit!!

The reg plate scam was more a case of two cars with the same registration, one which is clearly genuine as I can find a heap of historical pics and even a well known auction house verifying it prior to a sale some years ago, so lets call that car A, the second car was a nice replica and was sold as such yet it “appeared” to have the same registration as car A, we shall call this replica vehicle B. Now bizarrely an ad appeared after car B was sold for car A at a much lower price than A had sold for previously a year or so ago, and about a half of what A was worth, it was also a replica incidentally, and it was this ad that I spotted and thought.... ummhh I recognise that reg as I have a sweet spot for reg plates and I had typed into MOT check on line as I wanted to see history of B as I was sort of interested, anyway the ad was a Jekyll so I reported it. But, as those of who out there sad enough to read and take in my ramblings will realise B is most likely the hooky one.
The reg is SAG6Y. It wasn’t a sag owner who was interested either.

Please ignore any adverts for my reg or reg and car that mention taking red wine in bulk quantities as payment, either full or part... it will be my wife attempting to cash in on the only sound financial investment I have ever made.
In this instance you should alert the Police as I am probably locked in the shed.

I recognise that reg (SAG6Y). A previous owner of said reg number is still a good mate of mine. I recall he purchased the plate directly from the DVLA and sold it when he sold his Sag which must be about 9 years ago now. Here's a pic next to my old Sag:The reg is SAG6Y. It wasn’t a sag owner who was interested either.
