Hi,

I've had my Tamora a few months now (Standard early 3.6 with cats and ACT exhaust) and and while the sports exhaust fitted does produce some lovely noise on the twisty bits I find it tiring on longer jaunts. I haven't been in a Tamora with a standard system fitted so wanted to hear some of your thoughts on the sound/characteristics etc and also ask if anyone had a standard system cluttering up their life and might part with it.

Cheers in advance

If you want some noise, then forget a standard exhaust, relatively speaking, its pretty quiet and doesn't offering much burbling. When I got my Tam, I had traded in a Chim and really missed the burbling. Swapped it out for a 'Blueflame' exhaust (dunno if you can still get them), which is somewhere between standard pipes and the really noisy pipes. Wasn't at all bad on a long motorway run, but round the lanes with window down or roof off, gave just what I wanted.

Cheers Ian,
Currently it's putting me off taking the car to the Lake District or N Wales from GLA. Much harsher on the motorways than my Griff was on its standard system. I've downloaded a dB app and will take some readings to compare.

Has it got the full ACT system or just the backbox?

Decats and standard backbox is pretty poppy.

The standard boxes come up on ebay every now and again. You can try the usual breakers for one.
