Technical Question - Windscreen wiper

Over the last few months the drivers side wiper has started going over the edge of the rubber round the windscreen on the upward stroke. Its has actually sometimes gone too far and trapped itself, and the the wipers stop moving altogether.

I mentioned it when it went for its service, but was told that if they took the wiper off and moved it so it started lower and hence didnt travel as far it might catch the bonnet so maybe i would need the bonnet ginding down and respraying. How stupid is that!

My question is the wiper didnt used to do this so could i adjust anything else, to rectify

Had exactly the same thing happen to me and even after adjusting slightly myself it was still hitting the windscreen rubber......took down to Castle TVR a few months back and they adjusted it up a bit more and put a slightly shorter wiper blade on the drivers side (not noticeable and done on several others so I am told) which has fixed the problem.
