Nope - I'd like to know where my old Chimaera is now (T685 JCX). but I don't miss it except for the memories of my first wonderful summer with a TVR, in 1999, when it was lovely and hot, I was single, happy and in love. And remembering my 6 y.o. son's face when I picked him up from school in the Chimaera, having just driven straight back from picking it up in Harrogate. Priceless!

Was driving home Friday night.

In the fast lane was a gorgeous dark blue/black S plate Chim.

Now after a while out of a sports car I am in love with my new car. Its cheap to run, was cheap to buy is quicker than the Chim in every department, its pretty bullet proof, well made. Basically it ticks all the boxes that the TVR couldnt.

I still want a TVR though...

How do they do it?

The cocaine of sports cars...

Well you've got a very nice car and you can always return to the fold ;-)

If I was 5 inches shorter I'd consider an Elise type car. But I'm not, so sod Lotus for building cars for midgets

He told me was interesting in more power so I'm guessing a 5.0L is in order. Personally, I firmly believe that a 4.0 (or maybe a 4.5) is easier to drive hard and never really wanted a 5.0. The 5.0 is too unpredictable. If I'd kept mine Nitrons would have been the next mod.

Indeed. Something hugely addictive and nothing to pinpoint to show why they are. Despite Flasher's slating of TVR when he left the fold for Maserati, Mercedes etc, he is still itching for another.

I'd love to know what happened to my old Griff (P196 EBB) - sold it for bugger all in PX for an XJR. I don't regret the exchange as it was the right one at the time but I miss the car.

Plotless: Your VX is exactly the same as the one I had. For three months! Can't see how you think its better built though - have you had a try of a T350 or something a bit newer than a Chim? I could rant all day about how crap I thought the VX was but it all comes down to what wings your ding. The T350 is far better built than the chim/ griff era so why not give it a try. Come back to the fold...

I view past TVRs like many of the girlfriends of years gone by..you only remember the crazy and wild times.

What time tends to fade from the memmory are those less than perfect days, nights, weeks (read bills, breakdowns etc for TVR).

When all is said and done, you still smile at the memmory of both and wish you could revist those days. A word of caution, look forward not back, speed sixes are here to stay.

I still think about my Tamora, the brakes, steering, noise and the acceleration were really spot on.

I'm off to look at a 350, I've always liked them and if build quality improved with the new owners on board, I might sell the Porsche and move back to TVR.

The new 3 yr warranty is a big help too

Had a look at the Sagaris at the weekend, and the build quality is hugely improved.

I assume that new T350's are the same.

Saying that though, not had any problems with my 2003 T350, which is currently up for sale [cough][cough]

yay - come back to TVR one and all!

Has anyone read the Autocar article this week about the health of British car companies? Doesn't give TVR a good write up especially when they give Bristol a better bill of health...
