I'm currently in the process of buying a new TVR and have followed the factory's quality drive with interest.

However, I observed the following issues on a 10 month old car today and was astonished. I assume these wouldn't happen as much today, but are they really what people are used to on a new car?

Are these normal, bad quality control or simply through mis-treatment/lack of attention by the owner:

- Glue everywhere (gear stick surround, seats etc)
- Silicon sealant everywhere (way too much used originally)
- Head lights full of condensation/water
- Carpet literally falling off (under the dash)
- Lamination to badges and wheel centres
- Pieces of sealant (or is it waxoil) falling off from under all of the arches
- Rust everywhere (on the engine cover, wheel nuts, wheel hubs, exhaust tail pipes).

I recognise most could easily be remedied with a little time and effort and can't really understand why the owner hasn't already sorted it. I assume it's also been an all weather car that has been kept outdoors.

I've sat in the dealer demos at various dealers and they seem 100% better but together (though most are late 04 or 05 cars).

hmmm, this one's June '04 I think, and I've heard nothing but good things about the dealer.

Ah well, maybe a Friday afternoon car!
