Just wondering if TVR have added a choke system on the SP6 engine for cold starting on the list of changes to newer cars. Or do you still have to go 200 yards or something before the car won't stall when first starting in the morning.

No choke, just let it idle for a short while and off you go - no problem. (Same with the 04 cars in my experience)

When I originally bought the car, it did gradually start ticking over lower & lower, eventually getting to 500, at which point it did stall when cold. However, a quick trip to the dealer, who plugs in his laptop soon sorted this out.

I was just thinking of the first minute or so after starting the car, when you've left it over night or all day, it used to be a real pain getting out of the multi storey car park

Hi Adam, Thinking of coming back into the TVR fold...? My Tamora is up for sale soon if you're interested

To answer your question - I've done a lot of cold starts over this winter and never had the problem you describe.

Cheers
Don

My 05 car has already 2000 miles on it and the idle is going lower on cold start ups! once youve done a few miles it seems to be fine.

Have to say, compared to my 03 car, its like night and day, less interior noise is the most noticable difference, the finish inside is much better, they have spent time on the little details.
