Sagaris vs T350...
Discussion
Had the pleasure of chasing one the other day and can honestly say the Sag looked very agile and glued to the tarmac.. very impressive and is definately going to be alot quicker on a track... as far as straight line performance goes it was very close infact to close and i was carrying a passenger too... in the real world i would say the differance would be marginal but on a track would be superior... as far as i'm concerned i think the Sag needs slightly more power to compliment those aggressive lines and to distance itself from the rest... 4.2 please....

Anyone come up against a Sagaris? realisticaly will there be much differance in the real world?
Probably not anywhere near what the looks suggest there should be.
Wolf in Sheeps clothing meets Sheep in Wolfs clothing??
I imagine a sorted T350RR will see one off on the track.
I've heard sub 4 secs figures being talked about for 0-60. In fact my local dealer reckoned it was in the 3.7secs territory with 0-100 coming up in 8.
Sounds like it could be true given how quick the Tuscan S is and considering that the Sagaris is a even lighter, not sure by how much though. So looks as if it would be even quicker than a 4.5 cerb in a straight line!!
So combine that with better handling and it should certainly be quicker.

Not with the wider track, more downforce etc.
All IMHO. That much awaited Top Gear track performance will be interesting!
My apologies, I thought we were talking real world. Not a profeesional racing driver in a Press Spec car.
Remember its heavier, and wears the same rubber. RR is a genuine 375 bhp, not sure if the same can be said of an S spec 4.0 litre's 405 bhp.
Be nice to follow a well driven one at a track day and see how well they go.

Hi Guys,
Drove one at the week-end at racing green.
Very nice, has done only 1000 miles so still a bit tight I suspect. Nice car, you can certainly feel it has a wider track than my tuscan (standard 2000 X 4L). However, didn't like lighter feeling gear stick and pedals, and I must say, didn't feel like it had 40 extra horsepower - still, can't afford one and getting too much fun from mine.
Would like to have another go (silverstone TVR !!!) on a track with one that has done another 6000 miles.
Many thanks to martin at RG for letting me have a go.

My cerbera felt quicker in a straight line than my T350t yet my T350 was toe to toe with the Sag... ultimately the Sag will be quicker on a track no question... but my point is for those of you who already have well sorted T350's.. does paying in excess of 20k on top of your car justify the performance differance? IMHO.. No! i think it might be worth waiting for a used example later on and save 10k too...

Would rather spend £10K on Ohlins and a supercharger.
I prefer subtle
Well sorted T350 to Sagaris - what performance difference?

Is anyone actually super charging the speed six engine?
TVR......
You'd think they'd limit the supercharged 4 litre to their 'top of the line' models though (i.e.Typhon and maybe Sagaris).
Assuming the Sagaris's vented bonnet is effective it may compensate for the additional heat generated too...

You'd think they'd do lots of things
At the moment I'm sure it is limited to the Typhon.
As for heat, there are several routes to take to reduce heat before modifying the bodywork - which on car with lines as clean as the T350 is pretty much a last resort IMO.
Doesn't the current supercharged engine run waaaay too hot at the moment (thus the delay)?
I'd imagine they're looking at ways around that without modifying the Typhon bodywork but you never know.
I was told that the engine won't fit in the Sagaris, but I know of at least one person who was told it would.
I suspect we won't find out until it's ready for action anyway. I just hope the Sagaris doesn't end up in the same situation the t440 almost did (i.e. they change the engine spec leaving the older model less desirable).

I guess its running hot as they're trying to extract lots of power from it. By comparison I would be looking for a fairly modest power increase to circa 450 BHP, but a bigger hike in the torque.
Superchargers have been run under the hoods of 450 wedges without any additional bonnet vents so I'm not too put off by the idea.
I've also M series cars with big turbos, lots of manifold area and again, no vents.
As long as I'm not looking for 550-600 bhp I suspect I'll be OK.
