.... near the windscreen, what is that gap all about ?

I went to see the demonstrator at a local dealer and the car is better in real life than i was expecting, really love it, but that gap.... whats it for ?

Here's a pic for those who haven't seen it

This has probably been asked/answered before

I've wondered the same thing myself after seeing my first one at Le Mans last year. I think a little modification there may improve it a little, but it still looks good.

Oh yeah, I agree, It looks fantastic !

Just having a hole that my daughter could fall into seemed a bit strange, maybe if there was some mesh there or something. I asked the Dealer..... They didn't know why it was there either

Anyway it's a small point on an Awesome car, if only I could afford it

I wondered if it was to allow air to flow from the front of the car around the exhaust manifold and out of this hole to keep under bonnet temperatures down? It's in the right place.

This is what i first thought, but it is a big hole

I'd imagine it might look cozy to a pet cat and it'll get a shock when the car starts !

Correct. My RR Tuscan melts the washer hose on the windscreen wiper on a yearly basis due to heat coming out this side of the engine off the exhausts.

While I am sure they could have covered this more on the road cars, the race cars have this venting so they have also done this on the road cars. Just a shame they did not do more ie wheel arch vents with removable liners.

cheers

Looks like it's in almost the same place on the bonnet as the Tamora bonnet vent!

It passes the head form test so is deemed safe by the government. Lock up your daughter.
