I suspect that the battery on my car (T350) has died - do I really need a special cable from a dealer to jump start it or am I miss reading the handbook?

To "jump start" without taking the wheel off and getting direct access to the battery, then probably yes. Assuming the battery is OK, and you have the time you could charge it through the cigarette lighter!

You can probably do a jump start without the leven leads by clipping directly on the the contacts under the passenger door. The positive terminal is towards the front of the car.

When I had my Tuscan I bought the lead from TVR. Only to find that when the AA came to give me a jump they already had compatible leads.

Does anyone know if the jumplead I bought for my Tuscan will work for a new Tamora?

My T350 lead was labelled Tuscan/Tamora so I expect you're OK with the one you already have.
