OK, set the flaps to 16, and now have air blowing out of the windscreen vents and the leg vents! , I just hope heat comes out of them!!!! lol

(Although why I had to do this after parting with the best part of a grand at a main dealer is beyond me!!!)

Guys, I can only get warm air from the windscreen vents, asked local dealer and they said that's how it is and that the leg vents are not piped from heater. Is this true? Also, without sounding like a numpty, what do the flap settings do? [mine is at 16 at mo'] Any help appreciated.

You should get hot air from windscreen vents and leg vents, you just won't get it out of the obvious place you need it, ie the body level vents.

I spoke too soon, perhaps I still have a prob, I get a 'Fault warning code 25 - heater flap fault', if I try and change the settings for the warm air in the windscreen and footwell vents,,,, so am still stuck with the dash vents blowing cold air into the cabin!!!
I am sure some dealers must see me coming!!!!

(apart from that, was fan bloody tastic taking the Tam out today for a 120 mile round trip!!! )

LOL, agreed , Have typed out all of the 'gripes' and gave the list to Chan to read them the riot act tomorrow (Why are woman the best for these jobs???)

I did get back from my drive taking my son back feeling great though, even had a max power'd Clio full of lads almost crash in Glocester, I was behind them and the driver looked behind him, and almot kept steering into the curb as the roundabout ended!! lol

My T350 had the very same problem. By altering the flaps it did resolve the hot air problem. However the root of the issue was I had a coolant leak.

Is there an underlying problem.

It's just had a service, and the coolant level's always been spot on!, Funnily enough, it was working OK this morning taking me to work!!!

Chris, when you turn the car on (but before you start the engine) with the heater controls set to hot, do you get a loud humming noise? That I believe is the heater flap moving to it's correct position - if that is absent, there's no mixing of hot and cold air. This heater flap problem has been a common one over the years, and it needs sorting by the dealer (who obviously hasn't done so by the sound of it).

Get it back to the dealer, and give 'em a bollocking!

Chan is ringing them up today to give them a bollocking! When my front tyres were changed, they left off my TVR logo centre wheel cap and my TVR logo theft deterrent valve cap,, not happy at all!!!!

Just to say that TMS seem to have gone to the end of the world and back in order to sort out my heater... nightmare job that it is but they have replaced the whole unit under warranty. Sounds like the Tamora heater is a mechanics worst nightmare, however even the MD has checked the car out to make sure it is okay now. Service or what!!!!

Once the front spoiler has been touched up I should be getting the beast back this weekend following my acrobatic display a few weeks back... there goes the gardening!!!

TMS and Penninsular were my first choices,I have heard only good things from these. unfortunately, they are both too far away from me, TMS don't do a pick up and delivery service so far away, and Penninsular wanted £200 for the pick up and delivery, I just haven't the time at the moment to take a couple of days off work for a 6K service!

I'm also having trouble with the heater on my Tam.

It usually works fine for anything upto an hour but then there's a muffled pop sound and it will then only blow cold air from the body vents.

Any ideas on a fix?

Also, (numpty question) what and where are the heater flap settings?

Thats what is kinda happening with mine at the mo

The settings are in the digital display, you have to press both of the buttons behind the steering wheel simultaneously and scroll down to the menu which says 'dealer service' (or similar!!!), and the flap settings are in there, should be around 16, although mine keeps resetting itself to 0!!! £130 well spent fixing it then!!!

I use Peninsula and can speak very highly of them
they are 250 miles from me.!!!!!!

Take your car down on a Saturday. They will give you a courtesy car and pick it up the following weekend, thats what I do.

Yes, I shall definitely give Penninsular a try next time, we'll make a point of staying down there for a couple of days. The only place nearest to me now, who I would use is TVR power, but that journey's a nightmare!
