Hi

My T350C I am picking up Saturday has done 2800 miles, and it is getting a 6000 mile service before I pick it up, will this cause any problems later on?

hobo advised in my other post that semi synthetic should only be used to 6000, then fully synthetic after that.

Will i need an oil change at 6000 miles?

Thanks

In all honesty I don't know what will happen about the oil situation, ask the dealer.

Why are you having the car serviced that early ? All it means is that the next service will be equally early, i.e 9,000 miles instead of 12,000, etc, etc.

I didn't ask, I phoned up to make sure I could pick it up saturday and was told it had been done. Sort of throws the schedule out a bit....

Yep semi until 6K, make sure they put this in, I am sure they will but just in case.

And yes you will need a fully synth put in.

Other than that its just a standard service.

Perhaps get them to do this one and then do a deal on a service in another 3200 miles so they are back on schedule?

On the assumption that if you didn't ask for it doing, and therefore they have done it, I assume it is free of charge.

If this is the case, then the intervals is not a problem, albiet they may look a bit odd in the service book. As long as they are around 6000 miles apart then its fine.

With regards the oil, I would check that a) it is still using semi-synthetic, and, b) that they will swap it over (free or some deal) at the recommended 6,000, as it is going to be a slight hassle for you being without car, etc.

I'm sure slight 'niggles' will crop up anyway at some point, and therefore you can get these done, along with the oil (and possibly sports exhaust ) all at the same time.

when was the car registered? it might be coming upto 1 year old hence would need the 6000 mile service even tho its only done 2800 miles. I only do 3k a year in mine so only have it serviced once a year.

It was registered 1st March last year, so kind of makes sense, I guess. I think I will get an oil change over to fully synthetic at 6000 miles, then service again at 8800 miles...

mine is going in for its 18k service at 14k - because its out of sync as in the first year it did 3k miles. I have decided to go for a 12k service with tappets even though it is only due a 6k service. I could not see any problem with doing it - maybe kind of crazy.. but did not see a negative (apart from cost).
