Just completed 12 k service at 8k. Car running great before and after service. howerver noted that oil P at tickover before was 8 - 10 psi at operating temp on car lube and after service 12k on castrol rs is 18-20psi on tickover. any thoughts welcome, i thought recommended oil was carlube and this dealer has used castrol

Could be one of two things:

1. new oil needs time to run in, this could be relate to the oil pressure.

2. The oil pressure sender units are ajustable, maybe it was reset/ajusted during service?

hope this helps, but in the end, as long as you have pressure, thats the most important!

My T350 used to have ~10psi oil pressure on tick over when the oil was warm. After the 1k service it went to 15psi and at the 6k 20psi. Idle @850rpm.

Dealer said this was due to the different grades of oil being used during the break in period. Just back from 12k and no change to oil pressure this time.
