Eh?

Obviously good value if the car has been bought and left sitting in a garage for whatever reason, but maybe it's been sitting out the back of some dealer for 2 years as well?

How can someone only do 2 miles unless the speedo/odometer sender is duff?

Hmmm, I too would be very wary if that mileage is correct, a 2 year old car with 2 miles on it!
I have had 4 brand new cars in the past, and the mileage on them ranged from 7 to 12 miles on the odo! Very odd!

Tis Trade though, but still seems a bit low, as Whitey said they leave the factory with more than that on it !

Or maybe a new engine?

That can be a legitimate reason for reseting the mileage.

But against the law to do it...

No a typo - their other add is for a 30 mile car (which is 30,000). Looks like the 'thousand' part is implied.

Was it legal in the dim and distant past then?
I'm sure I recall people doing it - maybe I just know so dodgy folks...

Hope the original owner didn't work out his depreciation as a cost per mile - around a fiver?
