About a week ago (3500 miles) my speedo started playing up (maybe after a bit of rain???). It starts off OK then both the analogue and digital both go to ZERO (I havn't stopped:-)). Then the speedo will work again briefly then back to ZERO and so on. The symptoms sound like a loose connection, however the dealer has checked it and the gap to the transponder is OK. I'm on software version 5.8. Has anyone seen this/got a fix? The place where I live is full of speed cameras, so I'm going to get nicked soon.

I've noticed this sometimes with mine but only on the digital readout just for a split second it will read zero then return to normal. Software rev 5.8.

Paul,

Re. risks, see my post www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=5&t=15650

I've just had a look through the current subjects and it seems that crap speedos are one of the main subjects at the moment. I cannot believe that TVR is so inept that it can continue to ship cars with exactly the same problems as those suffered over 6 months before.

I know this doesn't help you but I had to rant somewhere. I knew the trouble-free period would come to an end eventually.

It's version 6.0 now people - which incidentally makes really nice sounds when the ignition is turned....

I've had v 6.0 since April, all fine until very hot/humid weather recently which makes the LCD display switch on and off at random intervals, although nothing resets and the needles arent affected. The bugger is it's impossible to replicate for the dealer....

Thanks for the info guys, I think the dealership are going to replace the transponder on the diff, then if this doesn't work, I guess it's pod out and back to the factory.
