Mine has been loud recently. Nice and quiet again now after a good thrashing down to Deepest Dorset this weekend though ... I shouldn't worry.

Apparently it buzzes when it primes the system, on a timer which is shut off by a pressure switch. Once primed the system remains pressurised by the pump ticking over, which I guess is why the buzz disappears. Normal!

Dont know if its any help but mine stops buzzing when i release the pressure by opening the filler cap ?. Bit hard to do whilst driving unless your Indiana Jones.

Hi maddog-uk

Our fuel pump is now doing the same thing - from last weekend. Did you get yours sorted? Spoke to TVRC and they are going to have a look on Saturday morning.

Nubbin is right. I was advised that the pump would prime for a few seconds to pressurise the tank, then switch off. Pretty hard to miss the sound behind you in a Tam, sounds like a low key note.

Our buzz seems to be permanent and does not switch off...

I double-checked this last night, and the noise continues for about 30 seconds then cuts out. The car will still start after the noise stops. One factor may be how much fuel is in the tank.
