A couple of early Tamoras (dealer demos) were 4.0l.

Also, according to Dom at TVR Power, the early Tams, especially the demos had blueprinted engines, I know this because when I asked about having mine done, he said there would be no need, as it's already had one, and the most BHP I could expect was 2-3!!!!
One day, I may go for the 4ltr upgrade though (although 'tis very expensive for such little gain)

The official line from TVR is that no 4.0L Tamoras have been built yet.
Blue Prints and "Press Spec" Engines are another thing....
