Well, I've just got my car back after it's trip to the paint shop. Fantastic new paint on nose, wings and bonnet, and I paid to have the rear undertray body-coloured. I have to say the rear spoiler looks fantastic! Much better than in black - it really pulls the rear end together (ooerr, missus!) I've taken some photos and stuck them on fotango, but I'll try to link them to this post, also.

The front looks good, but I can't see the one of the back.

I thought about getting the rear diffuser on mine colour coded when it goes back for the 1000 mile service, but I was worried that it would get messed up by the muck thrown out of the exhausts on cold start ups.

How's yours doing so far?

Ignore my last post.

The rear end has just appeared, (as they say!).

I'd still be interested to know about muck from the exhausts getting on the diffuser though.

Cheers.

Robert, I have literally driven it 3 miles from body shop to garage, awaiting Armourfend fitment tomorrow. It will get dirty, and possibly scratched, although I haven't noticed any damage to the rear spoiler since I got it. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

Thanks Duncan.

As a matter of interest, what sort of price did you pay to have it colour coded?

I've just asked TMS for a quote to do mine when it goes back in.

By the way, I see you got rid of the 'black bits' on the bonnet as well.

It's a long story - basically a woman rolled her renault Megane onro the bonnet, and scratched it, so I neeeded a complete front end respray - on her insurance! That got rid of the black bonnet vents, and I paid £70 to have the rear spoiler done at the same time. Great value. I didn't get the boot lid black bit resprayed, because it would need blending in all round, so would cost £5-600, which semed pointless. It looks fantastic now, and the paintshop commented that the TVR painting was actually very good, especially compared to robot painters - which often leave bare metal patches!! Renault are particularly bad in this respect.

I like it. Wonder if I can stage a parking incident....!

Seventy quid to spray the spoiler sounds good. I was expecting a couple of hundred.

I'll see how the price from TMS compares, as I think I'll have to get mine done.

Lance, if you're trying to stage a parking incident, just continue exiting Boxhill car park via the entrance, as you did when you took me for a blast!

Got the Armourfend fitted this afternoon - it is visible, but only just, and there is a line where it ends. But I took the car out for a thrash aferwards, and when I came back, I checked the nose, and there were at least 10-15 marks where stones had hit the Armourend, and they all rubbed off with no damage. good value, I'd say!!
