Guys - can anyone help?

Just got back from lunch time drive and the handbrake button is stuck in the lever!! The handbrake still works if you pull it up, but it wont stay there because the buttom wont pop out!!

Parking on very flat things at the moment!!!!!

Anyone know how to free up these things?

Cheers,
Andrew.

Is it because the button is jammed slightly at an angle? If so use a small screwdriver in the jammed side to pop it out. If its a problem with the spring inside you will need to take the handle off which will hopefully have a grub screw through the side, probably at the bottom.
Then refit the spring.

These are just ideas, i havent had a chance to examine one closely.

Andrew,

I had the opposite experience: the button fell off!

You can unscrew the button to see the innards. Try that.

I had the same problem with our Tamora after picking it up from the factory, so I took it back to them to look at it (we live about 12 miles from the factory).

The guy said 'it looks like 'x' has driven it and they're a little heavy handed'. He then gently but firmly pulled the handbrake towards (I think) the driver's door which cured the problem! I therefore think the problem is a slightly misaligned handbrake arm, but I guess you need to test whether it's misaligned to the left or right.

So they don't 'all do that sir'!

Excellent - thanks for your help guys.

I took it all to pieces last night but was still unable to get the button to pop, but did manage to mark the button as I tried to, unsucessfully, unscrew it. Bugger - that'll need replacing. I used a towel to try and protect it.

Ill give the gentle 'lean' method a go tonight.

Sorry I'm late with a reply just got back from 3 weeks in SA.
I had the same problem with mine after it came back from a paint job. I took it apart and could not find a fault, but I got it to pop out by giving the lever a thump after releasing the brake. I will check alignment as suggested.
