Does anyone have an decibel readings a la trackday style police would take for the T350 (or Tamora I guess) with aftermarket noisy exhausts?

I see TVR Power offer the supersport tailpipes (which seem to be friggin' loud and would never pass sound testing) and they also offer a factory 'big bore' back box option (which looks like it might be quieter?).

I'd like a bit more noise, but not too much.

Picky aren't I?!?

Before anyone suggests it, I'm not going to swap silencers before/after every track day. I want a back box I can leave on.

Thanks.

I tried a 'factory' big bore silencer - it was quiter than my standard exhaust at lower revs, and just 'different' at higher revs. I then tried the Supersports silencers - far too LOUD, but I couldn't get the grin off my face so I had to buy them. There is no way the supersports would pass track noise limits, but they are great.
Takes about 1/2 hour to swap over so it's not impossible to change them over on a occasional basis - but I'm not sure what impact the management adjustment would have if you put a standard 'zorst back on.

I've got an ACT pipe on.

At Cadwell park last year it was measured (unofficially with a hand held) at 109dB. Approx 1 m away at 4000 rpm. I think the limit there was 104.

I would like about the same as you, and Dream Machines seem to think the JP exhaust might be the answer, but i haven't got any figures for you.

Decat and blue flame rear sports box, 4000 rpm 103.5 db at 1m. Had no problems with noise on track days last year.

Hi guys,

I'm booked in next friday to have the TVR Power Supersport system fitted. Is this system too loud, have I made a mistake or am I going to love it. I'm looking for more "pops and bangs"................

Cheers,
Nick

How'd you like Cadwell? Ace circuit isnt it! I plan to go back there this spring, only done it in the Chimaera before.

Did your T350 just need 2nd gear from The Mountain right through Hall Bends to that hard right hander? This was my crappest part of the circuit in the Chimaera - keeping it in 2nd with the Speed Six I just need to steer and brake :-)

I have it, and quite a few others on here too! Let's put it this way, once it's on,, your old exhaust will never go back on again!!

Its awesome! I went from a big bore pipe into a standard box to a big bore pipe into a super sports. I can safely say its probably the best sounding car I have ever heard! I love it and judging by the reception I get, everyone else does too! Enjoy these exhausts!

I wasn't actually driving there having just had my Tamora a month. I was really just checking out the lie of the land.

I was there as a passenger in a RR T350T which was awesome. Couldn't believe the pace we could corner at. Not too sure about all those blind corners, though.

Excellent, I can't wait

I also have big bore pipes into a standard box so the Super Sports system should sound pretty good !!!

Trust me, I have had Ferrari owners tell me it sounds awesome and pretty much every other car owner. Just dont start the car with someone walking behind, they tend to jump 5 feet vertically!
