Help! Can't get in!
Discussion
Had this scenario before where battery has gone totally flat but crucial difference last time was jump leads/connector was OUTSIDE the car i.e got them, plugged in, opened doors etc
If the leads were in the car and there is no power to the doors what is the method to get in? I know there are/were various methods on griffs etc that I have used in the past but if someone could enlighten me via my email pointless.engineering@btinternet.com it would be much appreciated!

I had this prob too when I first had my Tam, I thought getting in would be as easy as it was in the Chim,, was it hell!!! I had to take the wheel arch cover off to gain access to the battery (took an hour, very fiddly, but would be better if I had taken the wheel off!) Once you hacve access to the battery and it's terminals, use a battery charger to charge it up for 24 hours, at least, thats twhat I did, no problems since!
Chris, yup ta, car is sat outside house with extension leads trailing from the front door and charger etc wrapped in a bin liner under the it....crude...but effective. I'll risk it over night and then give it a run to work tomorrow.
It wasn't in a massive hurry to turn over with the jump leads attached to an idling 2.6 skyline engine and as I was on my own in a deserted ford car park I had to resort to bodge tactics with the throttle mechanism. With the skyline engine howling away at 5000rpm it started quick enough although security had to come and nose to wonder what on earth was going on...

Thanks Simon for mailing out the helpful hints - not had a chance to try it yet but hopefully this means that I can at least take refuge in the boot if worse comes to worst! Must remember to leave a few mars bars in there in case of emergencies
Thanks for the comments Chris - glad you like the pic
