Took my T350 out for a blast today with my new GPS PDA thingy. I'm pleased to announce that the speedo is spot on all the way up to 120 leptons.

Makes a change from my A6 which overreads by 5mph most of the time.

Great day for a blast BTW. After nearly 4 weeks of not being used the car feels tight and revs nicely

Checked mine against my handheld GPS on Sunday - spot on too.

Reading high must be an Audi thing - my old TT and my wife's A2 both always read about 5 mph high.

I think over-reading is normal on most cars - by law I think they're allowed to over-read by up to 10%, and from a liability point of view manufacturers probably prefer to do this, rather than someone sueing them because they went past a Gatso at an indicated 30 and got fined due to speedo under-reading.

I have regularly found with my RA in a variety of cars that they over-read between 5-10mph at higher speeds

It's quite amazing to think that, with all the other little loveable TVR "features", the one thing that seems to be right on my car is the accuracy of the speedo

I must say ours is spot on also, weel according to originB2. Interestingly I have a second crade for our Clio which reads over by about 4mph!

Our Clio does too,, it's sooo inaccurate!! having said that, Renault probably like to think that the driver is going faster than he/she actually are!!

Likewise - spot on vs about 5mph over for mrs spenny's focus!

It also amused me for several months that my Tam was more reliable than her (new) focus (not least given the power steering on it completely lunched itself).

Until the tam needed a new gearbox, that is...
