I'll be viewing a T350 next week and was looking for some advice on things to look out for. Its an early car but has had all of the upgrades done by the factory.

How good are the clutches and gear boxes? i.e can they take a bit of stick?

EDIT: Any warranties out there that are worth having? if so how much are they?

I'd appreciate any advice you guys can offer, thanks!

Definitely get a warranty. Remember, the engine will have a 2 year warranty from the factory. If the car is out of warranty then whatever aftermarket warranty you get needs to cover the complete cost of an engine rebuild and not have a £1,000 per claim limit etc.

Is this a private sale or non-TVR dealer? If so, watch how they treat the car when cold. They should never rev about 3,000 rpm until the engine is fully warmed through. You can still make a lot of noise/progress below these revs BTW, so don't just assume. If they treat the car badly when it is cold then walk away. No run away. There are plenty more cars which have been cared for.

Gearboxes and clutches are very long lasting - if these feel loose/wrong then the car has been treated badly.

Basically, this car is so different from a Griffith or Chimaera. The whole car should feel tight and it should handle very well. The steering may take a little getting used to if you're not used to recent TVRs.

Its a private sale, i have been in touch with the supplying deal who says the car is tip top and will offer a warranty the same as the ones i would get with a car bought from him.

It most certainly will be good to join! Just hope the car turns out to be as good as it sounds.
