Hi, Im looking to upgrade my headunit and it seems I need to remove the handbrake / gearchange trim in order to get the head unit out, does anyone know where the clips live as I dont want to ruin the trim getting it off...
Cheers Jon.
You sure? I've had my head unit out several times and didn't need to move the centre console at all.
I explained this, albeit on a T350, a few weeks back.

agreed. changed mine on Monday. Standard unit just slipped out and new unit slipped in. 10 minute job.
Blueyes post (which was in response to my question ) goes into a bit more than you need for this job I think. Also the fastenings are a bit different in the Tamora. Undo the screws that hold the cover over the transmission tunnel and then take out the ashtray. In the hole where the ashtray was is a wing nut - once you've undone that the transmission cover lifts off.
But before you do all that... if the head unit is hitting the transmission cover as you pull it out (which I think is why you've asked this question) you might find that with a bit of upward pressure on the dash you can tilt it enough for the head unit to come out cleanly without removing anything. This worked for me.
Hope this helps

Cheers guys! I need to get home and have a look but I'm sure that when I looked to do this that I would need to remove the trim cos the HU would catch the trim but I expect you guys are right re this... I'll do this at the weekend so will be able to comment on Mon, cheers again for your help! Jon.
