I met with Lance Russell on Saturday morning in Boxhill Car Park, to look at the carbon fibre modifications in his boot, which allow the roof panel to slide in and out more easily, without causing any damage.

If anyone's interested, pictures are on:

www.tvrcars.biz/tamora.htm

Click on the 'Tamora Mods' button to look at the modifications to the boot, or the upgrade of the stereo and speakers.

I did think about bringing it to everyone's attention, but with the undoubted performance gain that you achive with that particular accessory, I decided it would be too risky!!!

Lance,
I guess the extra boot lid seal is to stop the dreaded exhaust gasses getting in?
Can you remind me about your stereo upgrade? Do you really have any stereo imaging with just rear speaker set up and seats in the way?
By the way both cars look great!

Sorry about the naff boot seal - it's a temporary screwfix.com leak preventer until the dealer sorts it, please ignore! No probs with stereo imaging (not entirely sure what you mean but it sounds fine), the subwoofer unit has phase, gain and filter adjustments so I guess you can set it up properly. Has made a HUGE difference..

go on, you know it makes sense!
The head unit has a nice security feature, behind the flip-down vface is a hidden credit-card size chip that contains all the access codes and your sound set-up. If the head unit is stolen when you still have this card Blaupunkt will replace FOC. I just keep mine in the wallet.

Do the new speakers make much difference or do you really need the sub-woofer?

Did you get the radio booster in the end?

they both made a noticeable difference. I think if you just fitted the subwoofer you'd be lacking in mid/treble.

Just spoken to my dealer about latest mods to my car and some outstanding problems:-

Door seals - the seals on the latest cars will not fit mine as the door dimensions have changed! Not my words! However they will fit the latest seals available for my car and a new hoop seal which extends lower. Hopefully this should fix my leak when driving in the rain?

Condensation - TVR reckon this is bison related as it hasn't been reported on any cars with leather! They're working on enhancements to the screen ventilation.

ECU - mine doesn't start up every time I turn the ignition on so they recommend changing the ribbon cables.

Seat belts - TVR are working on a rubber bit to fit onto the b-pilar. Expect this in the next 2/3 weeks.

Hot cabin/gear stick - TVR are working on a mod to be retro-fitted to cars. No outlook at moment.

Alloy bits - the handbrake surround is now a different shape so not as simple as just putting the alloy bit on.

I'll let you know how I get on?

Cheers..... Andrew

Interesting comment about the condensation.
Mine has full hide and has the condensation problem, the dealer also said that they have another car in with hide which has the condensation problem as well.

Also, when I was at Rockingham watching the GT's, the Yellow factory car was there, which also has Full Hide interior, and guess what, yes, a big patch of condensation between the screen and the back of the instrument binacle.

Mine has not been a problem in the last couple of weeks, since the warmer weather, but the Factory have told the dealers to fit a new windscreen, which I am waiting to come in. So, how can the factory say the problem is only related to Bison, when their own car has the same problem, and my dealer has informed them of other cars as well.
Personally, I do not think there is a problem with the seal around the windscreen, it is a design problem (IMO), It needs a space between the glass and the top of the dash, like the Griff has.

Which makes it even more confusing that I only ever get condensation on the passenger side and never on the driver's side!
Cheers.... Andrew

Wow, the repair to the kerbed alloy wheel sure is impressive. Does it still balance OK though? I had a set of alloys refurbished and they were never the same again.
