Guys - getting T350C in a couple of days and have some questions.

1. Will battery discharge it's self like my Chim used to if not driven for a couple of days, do I need a trickle charger? (I know I know... dont not drive it for a couple of days. But might have no choice if away etc)

2. Warming up and short journeys - whats the very best procedure for warming up in the mornings? And if I must drive it to work (1 mile), should I go the long way around?

Cheers.

1. You shouldn't need one no. We left ours once for over a week outside in all weathers, it started up first time

Recently left mine for a week without use, and started straight away upon return.

Warming up. At present it is taking mine around 10 minutes to get upto around 50'c.

Its best to plug her in over long periods (just behind front near side wheel)

Ill give it a week and you will be leaving early for a 10 mile trip to work. My local shell garage is 20 miles away (yea rightiho)

people stoping and staring is quite addictive as im sure you already know.

Edited to say im sure its me they look at not the car

Hi admoss,

In 3 years I haven't had any battery problems with my Tamora. It's normally used daily but occasionally sits for two weeks whilst on holiday with no problems.
The brakes sometimes stick after a few days so I don't use the handbrake when its garaged.

I think warming-up is very important to the longevity of your engine. I never exceed 2500 revs until the engine's over 40C. This can be a real pain if you live near a dual-carriageway or motorway!

Good luck for Saturday.....

Just echoing the comment above about not applying the handbrake for long periods of non-use: I put the car away for two weeks and had real problems getting the brakes to part from the discs, so much so that on reversing out of the garage I nearly took the side of the car off after balancing the clutch to apply sufficient force to release the brakes, and then jolting backwards.

No battery problems though, even after two weeks of non-use. Usual stalling problems for 30 seconds on start up, though.

Good luck for today.

Cheers

I have a conditioner fitted in mine so I just plug the car in when I am not using it. I also know all about the sticking handbrake so would advise you just leave it in gear!

On warming up I am extremely carfeull. I basically run upto 2500 revs until it hits 60, then upto 3000 until it hits 70, then I go for it. Typically I go for a drive to achieve this if I know I am going to be stopping! So 1 mile is not far enough!

I am amazed how many people start TVR's and just thrash them, especially non sp6 engines, and I know for a fact they would be cold.
