Firstly; what a great drive today!!

Car had been under its duvet in the garage for 10 days. Started first pull (as always) and gave it a couple of moments to make sure the neighbours were up too, while I had a coffee.

The roads were empty and had a really sweet drove in to work. Weather was great, dry and clear. Birds were singing. Car felt like she was alive. Then, bugger, I'm doing 0 mph. Well I carried on at 0 with brief bursts of 226 for the last few miles.

On the way home I was at normal speeds again, apart from about a mile, between some roundabouts, at 0 again.

My sensor has been tempermental for a while but I had been quite hopeful, as after a call from my dealer to let me know my new sensor was in, I took a half day hust before Christmas and went to get it sorted.

After a look and as it was being tempermental it was decided that it was the positioning and not the actual sensor that needed sorting.

It was done, along with another "niggle" and I came home the long way through the Peak District.

All was fine apart from a brief 0 and I was reasonably happy.

Doesn't appear to have worked though.

Has anyone actually had it sorted? (probably should be asking if anyone is still reading! Sorry) If it is just positioning then presmuably a new sensor wouldn't help?

Cheers

Andy

When mine went it was the speed sensors wire and where it went through the body work was rubbing and then causing issues.

Booked in to get the new part fitted tomorrow. Hopefully that will sort it and be worth a day in a Ka.

Shame I'm out of warranty.

All sorted now.

Had a new stylee sensor fitted and the speedo has been 100%. Much easier than having to work speed out from rpm as it has decided to stop mid corner coming up to a speed trap!

Excellent job on the car too. Feels spot on.

Havn't managed 226 since it has been done though....

Mine still cuts out at 130. It is a reminder to slow down a bit though.

Just a thought, Jayjay.

I was looking through the menus after a comment someone made on the fan speed thread.

In the factory option on the main menu (option 8) there is a setting that says max speed. Mine is set to 177. Might be worth taking a look to see if you are set at 130?
