My LCD display has started playing up. Switches on and off at random for a few seconds a time whilst driving, doesnt seem to be bump-related. Nothing resets and the needles arent affected. Anyone seen this before / got any ideas? Will be going back to the dealer in Sep for a load of other faults anyway but if I can fix this myself it'll help. ps cant see anything loose.

I have had this as well a couple of times-does not as you rightly say appear to be bump related or even moisture related in my case, (since arriving in Germany car has only been driven on dry days).
It is on my ever-growing list of minor faults to be rectified when my car eventually makes it back to Blackpool.
I have to restate that this car is so much more capable than the Griff 500s I owned previously- I am even beginning to love the straight six sound.
I am looking forward to your seatbelt fix!

My LCD has been playing up since day 1 and I cannot find any way to reproduce. I have not only seen the blanking you mention but also brightness/contrast slowing fading down when I use the lights, and graphics going mental. In all cases stopping and starting the car seems to rectify. I spoke to the engineer who deals with the displays at the factory and he thought it was probably a loose connection - I'm not convinced ! I have a gut feeling that its moisture related as I see most often in the rain but also on long hot journeys ( condensation ? )
My car is currently at the dealers so I have asked then to dismantle everything and put back together. Be glad to know if/when someone gets to the bottom of this one - driving me nuts !

Thanks Mark - that was my gut reaction yesterday - a very hot/humid evening so could have been moisture related. And the brighness/contrast was varying (for the first time - coincidence? probably not) Was OK again this morning which may support that thought. Going to be fun trying to reproduce it for the dealer.....
Andrew, my screen is definitely scratched to f**k on the inside by the stays! Have just ordered some Renovo restorer, if it doesnt work I'm demanding a replacement once the seatbelts are sorted (which I'm thinking of charging to them as well). Not the best week.....

Good point about the temperature - the last two occasions mine has played up were on 30-35°C days about 19.00hrs.

As I said my car has not seen a drop of water apart from washing- but careful not to get windscreen wet, since 14th June.
My rear plexi is scratched to buggery as well on the roof stays

All comments so far, at least to my face, very positive even from 911/Boxster/M Roadster/SLK acquaintances. The Griff 500 I had here was also well known but opinion from those who knew both cars is that the Tamora is better/more dramatic looking.
It drives much better.
The Griff shape is a classic I hope the Tamora stands the test of time.

...the plastic rear window has got really badly grazed against the stays. I'm going to get the buggers to replace this FOC....
rich....you have a point that I'm sure some dealers will claim but in our defence we HAVE to wrench the roof around to avoid killing ourselves from faulty seatbelts! Spoke to my salesman this afternoon (fantastic guy and dealership - name supplied off forum) who was very sympathetic, no hesitation to replace anything under warranty. They're also making an "offical" complaint to the factory on behalf of all of us about the seatbelt design and the driver's A-pillar seal. FOC factory mods may be on its way, I'll keep you posted.....

Rich....the seatbelt problem happens only with the roof down - the rear folding section jams the belt against the feeder on top of the B-pillar and stops it retracting. It's lethal because you can easily introduce up to a foot of slack when driving (eg leaning forward to look round junctions) and never realise you've done it. Only subsequent heavy braking reveals the problem, one day this is going to be too late....
