The doors on my T350 started rubbing on the door shuts shortly after I bought it (2nd hand) a few months back. I took it down to the TVR garage and had them adjusted but the drivers side is still rubbing and has now taken some of the paint off

Took it back again last week and was told that the only way to get them sorted now is to have them taken off, re-profiled (as they are too big!) then resprayed (along with door shuts) and put back on

Anyone else had similar probs? How can they now be too big if this did not happen from new? Apparently my extended car care plan warranty does not cover this (gasp!) so I am awaiting an estimate for costs

Happy Xmas all

It happens all the time - mine are currently squeaking in a very irritating fashion, and have at various times been re-adjusted and re-aligned. The re-profiling sounds a bit unnecessary to me, though.

They said if they adjusted the door to move it forward any further it would start to rub on the front edge instead, so there was no other option.

Mine had that problem a few months after delivery. I had the same answer from the dealer: reprofile and respray- even the bit about rubbing somewhere else if adjusted! I told them to adjust it and see what happens. They did and I've had no problems since.

Remember don't be fobbed off by them and their bull- the doors USED to fit properly, unless, as you said, they've suddenly grown! You should only have to have them adjusted. Once this is done leave it for a while to see if it's worked then maybe Chips Away can blow-in the scuffs.
