I seem to have very temperamental windscreen washers. When i first got the car it packed up fairly early on. 1000 mile service then sorted it, but they seem to have packed up again. Descended from a decent "spray" to a "dribble" and then nothing! And yes, i have checked the levels.

Generally seems like a poor design from what i can see. Any tips/hints on keeping the washers in good working order?

Thanks

Snap... ish....

Before my 1000 mile service my washers were like a firemans hose.... after the service they appear to be more like a garden hose!

Going to have a look at them over Christmas but will also be checking this thread.

My drivers side washer stopped working was'nt till I was checking the fuilds that I noticed one of the small black plastic pipes had come off by the T joiner.
Have a look around the bottom of the windscreen when bonnets up.

Sounds like the answer to me as it is worse on the drivers side. Thanks

You should check the connections on the hoses. I have had leaks at two different points. If you fill the bottle up and press the washer you will see where the leaks are.

Also, check for glue in the inlet of the filter where a tube is connected. Mine was blocked with glue.

I had a dribble.

The end of the pipe (under the wiper) had split.

I cut the end 10mm off to get a good seal again.

replace the pipe system with the Leven conversion, much neeter and proper jets, problem solved for good, and only around £15.

HAve to agree with BigPhil, done it myself on the Tam, a little fiddly but a lot better looking and works better.
