Hi All

Now on the verge of buying a t350t. Just need a last few bits of advice.

1. Red Rose Conversion - anyone got one and how good is it?

2. Close Ratio Box - worth getting?

3. Hydratrack - worth getting?

4. I live in the North West any comments on nearby dealers would be good?

I'll actually be using the car every day unless the weather is too bad. Currently manage this quite ok in S2 Exige so unless it breaks down on me all the time i have no worries there.

Many thanks and u all take care over xmas

Tried a Tamora with RR (3.6 not 4.0) and it is difficult to detect the differences over standard, unless you drive a standard one straight after/before. Uprated brakes, engine and bigger bore exhaust are tempting as 'got to have' options however IMO

Close ratio could be worth having (try a Tuscan S), as it is aimed more at track use and so the first three ratios are higher and closer than standard making it easier to keep the engine 'on the boil'

Not so sure about hydratrak, haven't tried a car without it.

Dealers? reading some of the comments on here, none of them! but any that know the answers to the questions you are asking ought to be worth a look...

Have to agree with Golden Boy, the RR may not give you as much as you may think,,, I have driven a Tuscan S, and, if I'm very honest, I couldn't tell the difference at all between my 3.6 'vanilla' and the 4 litre S version driving along both country roads and A roads, although my friend assures me that there is more of a difference on the motorway; but we have to ask ourselves how often do we use ALL of the power of the 350BHP 3.6? Not often I suspect.
The main difference between mine and the Tuscan S was more to do with the Cose ratio gearbox, making driving around town, and at lower speeds in general more comfortable, as I found I didn't have to change gear at all from 2nd! (May be next on my list of things to buy )
I was all for a 4 litre and RR upgrade for my Tam, 'till I drove the Tuscan S, and all I want is the CR gearbox

Got all three on mine.
Never had a TVR before this, so don't know the difference.
I can say that driving around town is no problems 1st and 2nd nearly all the time.
Motorway cruising is no problem.
On track
1st will take you over 60
2nd over 90
3rd for the rest. Hardly ever get into 4th.
Despite rumours, I don't get much wheel spin even in wet. (probably driving like a mambi pambi). Goodyear F1's are great.
Main concern is how the extras will depreciate.
normal car 38k
with goodies 50k
bet it's not worth much more than standard second hand.

Raja, are you buying the T350T new? If so then if you go for the Red Rose Pack as opposed to the conversion of an existing car then I'm pretty sure you get the lightweight vinyl ester resin bodyshell. This loses a fair amount of weight over the standard car and in combination with the increased power and tweaked induction and larger bore exhaust plus bigger brakes, the differences are far more pronounced. I've had mine since Sept 03 and THERE is a difference over the standard(?!?) T350T.

I don't have a close ratio box - unnecessary IMO
Hydratrack - don't have that either(even the dealers are not convinced about this one)

Best of luck!

IMHO, the RR up-grade is a must. The engine is noisy when cold but, when it's warmed up, it flies. The lightweight body and bigger brakes are an advantage as well. One of the TVR factory race drivers works at my dealer; he's driven my car and says that it's much quicker than the standard version, to the extent that the 400S couldn't live with it. Down-side - oil consumption, but there again, it's not far off a race-spec engine, so not a great surprise there.

By the way, the same race driver dissuaded me from considering both the close ratio box and, especially, the hydratrack diff. Says it all really!

Sorry if I come across dumb, but what is the difference between Hydratrack and the standard diff?
