Funny to see what they're saying about TVRs over on an Alfa GTV6 forum that I look at! Somone has seen the Twin Turbo Griffith for sale on Pistonheads but is afriad it will kill him. Seems they are all scared of driving a TVR makes one appreciate what great cars they are! Rich...

A collegue at work bought a cerbera a few months back ..... totalled it within weeks.

He wrapped it round a lamp post after spinning it off a round about. The lucky thing was that the impact with the lamp post stopped him flying of the edge of the brighton cliffs!

Yes it would kill you

Hate to sound like a wimp but I would be too scared to drive it...

I don't mind a car that likes to wag it's tail a bit under power but I don't want one that is just waiting to bite your head off!!!

I drove my boss brand new T350t a few months back in the summer and it was like a loaded gun at your head. 30mph in 3 rd gear foot to the floor, lost the back end. 90mph in 5th gear same again, there was just power evey where. Every time you nailed it it ended up nail you from behind.
Great car though!!

YEP!!! Lets be honest, we LOVE it when people feel terrified of the awsome powr of our TVRs. But on the other hand, I have also lost the rear of my Tam in 3rd gear at about 3,000rpm (in the wet but on a straight road) with very little provocation. So lets face it - these cars can and DO BITE!!! Lets take care this winter.

I have a Tuscan.

Have never even wheel-spinned it.

If you wrap your car around a lamppost, YOU wrap it around the lamppost not the car.

The Alfa boys are obviously not used to driving cars which require you to actually be responsible for the amount of foot movement on the throttle pedal And there was me thinking Alfas were quite sporty.

I was out today in the T350 and the roads are very greasy, so I was gentle with application of the right foot and never used more than part throttle - still used all the revs Result:equally fast progress to rural Wiltshire and back with zero wheel spinning or tail happy moment. It's easy when you try.

As for wrapping cars around lamposts - I think we should start a campaign to reduce street furniture to the obvious benefit of road injuries. I'm sure wotsisname from EVO will be the first to sign the petition (he wrapped their EVO VIII around a lampost according to the latest issue).

Targa's right, if you drive our cars in exactly the same way you drive a 'normal' car, even a hot hatch, you will come unstuck, without a doubt. If you drive them with the respect they require, there should be no problems at all, as long as all's set up correctly of course.
I always found it very easy to drive Chan's ZR160, but that's because it is front wheel drive and has less than half the power of the S6 TVR's, people who have never driven a TVR fail to understand this, I'm sure,,

Actually the funniest bit is this:-

"That's if you could get it to go further than 200 yards before calling the AA.

Neighbour has a Tuscan. On 3rd engine in 12 months."

This from an Alfa Romeo owner!!??
