Hello chaps
I take it most of you would have read the latest EVO by now, I thought the comments on the Tamora (Track day cars) interesting, especially as they tested the 18" wheel option and found it to be inferior to the previous 16" car they had used on the performance car of the year. Anyone else agree with the testers comments?

ooooo emotional topic!! I dont think any of the Tamora owners do, we love 'em! Did you also see the March Evo article "Best of British" testing an 18" Tamora vs Boxster S v Z3 MCoupe v Aero 8 ? I dont think the wheels are the problem.....

I think you have to take the article in context of trying to find their track day car of the year. Maybe some testers find the 16" wheels better than the 18" at the limit, but interesting enough almost the same comments were made a year or so ago by a magazine (can't remember which one now) who were driving a Tuscan RR in a "best track day car" type test - too soft underbraking etc.

You've got to remember it's a road car first, track day car second, and it put some really good lap times in versus the track day specials they were testing - and if you read the article they were using special tyres on a lot of the other cars where they got the lap time down by 3 seconds or so. On road tyres the TVR trounced most of the opposition.

Also worth remembering is that all magazine articles are written by humans and humans are subject to pressures so lets just say that TVR dicked the journalist about then you can see how these reviews may be sullied a little.
