Went to check my oil level this afternoon like a good boy and found I can no longer open the bonnet

Pulling the release under the steering column does pull the cable and I can hear it moving under the bonnet so guess it has not snapped, but it certainly is not releasing the catch. Any ideas??

Give the bonnet a good tug at the same time as pulling the lever as the bonnet catch sometimes rub on the windscreen wiper operating arm I had to bend mine down slightly.

It may be different on the T350, but on the Tamora you can release the catch by pulling the cable through the vent over the catch.

Tried tugging hard on it in case it was sticking but have had no joy, its definitely not releasing the catch im afraid

I can only just get a finger down the vent gap so do not think i'll be able to pull the cable that way. I'll have a root around for some long nosed pliers and see if I can get them down there to pull the cable/release it.

Look between the bonnet and the window, you will see the catch. Stand at the drivers side and using a long screw drive try and slide it along the end of the cable. You may have to push hard, on the screw driver that is, but try lifting the bonnet at the same time. The same thing happened to me but is a very easy 2 min fix.

When you have the bonnet up then move the cable clamp up to the end of the catch and tighten it up. I then bent the cable slightly to prevent the clamp sliding up again. Hope you get it open.

cheers

You mean you can actually open your bonnets by just pulling the lever? mine never has. I have to lift the bonnet whilst pulling on the lever, My dealer said thats normal. Are they telling me porkies?

Mine behaves the same as yours, I didn't even think it could be different.

To clarify I have always had to pull the lever through the window whilst lifting the bonnet with the other hand, however at the weekend the lever stopped pulling the cable far enough to release the catch.

Followed Dookie's advice and have now managed to get it open. Have also adjusted the cable/catch so it now opens again every time (thanks again Dookie)
