Has anyone had this done for the winter? (I quote from Henley Heritage's recent ad):

"Hood weatherproofing - Fabsil £75 + VAT or Dinitrol (Waxoil alternative) from £230 + VAT (for full exterior and chassis injection treatment.)"

Do you think its necessary?

just get the underside of the car sprayed down once in a while at a car wash. i have heard it is a waste of time and that the salt eventually eats away at the grease wax and then your car. maybe i am wrong but it makes sense to just blast off the crap every week or two

Hood weatherproofing - buy a can of Thompsons Waterseal and a paintbrush. Works very well. Renovo do some stuff too. I'd avoid Millets tent waterproofing spray - nowhere near as effective as waterseal. Won't take you long either.
