Speedo started to flicker today all over the place and then cured itself after a while... thought it might be the cold! anyone else had this?

Yep, could be a faulty actuator (sp?).

Had mine replaced under warranty 6 months ago and no problems since.

During visit to factory today I asked one of the guys working on my car if they had a solution to the dodgy speedo problem and he said that TVR had sourced some new sensors.
When I get it I'll post how reliable it is.

Mine has now developed this problem. The speed sensor is in palce and tight, so it looks like it needs replacing. Anyone had a recent update on this issue?

I was told by Silverstone TVR that there is a replacement part sourced but they haven't actually received any yet.

Just done 8500 miles since June.

My speedo is working at the moment (packed up after 20 minutes above 120mph on the Autobahn and worked again after stopping for 15 minuteS). I mentioned the problem to my dealer on Friday when collecting the car from service and they have ordered me a new sensor.

The dealer told me they had just received a bulletin/communication that there is a new, redesigned part coming soon but they are not sure exactly when.

I thought the flickering Speedo was standard equipment so you could use it as an excuse...

Seriously, both my ex. Tam and T350 have a Speedo that flickers, not wildly though, about +- 5 mph and intermittently. The rev counter does the same thing.

Same for you guys?

Mine does that too! To be honest, as I still am awaiting a new ECU its the least of my worries

No it's not flickering - it dies and rejuvenates continously, for variable intervals - the digital speedo goes to 0 at teh same time - so it must be a sensor matter. i'll wait for the new sensors before it gets a fix!

Mine has always worked fine to 70mph then reads 0mph until I go below 70 (no prob as I just use Road Angel readout). All dealers are waiting for new sensors to replace the faulty batch that were supplied to TVR. HLGorner said today that sensor deliveries are planned for next week

Got mine on order.

Seeing as it appears to be a faulty batch of sensors are we all going to get charged for the replacements?

Had a new one last night.

Sat at a traffic lights doing a steady 226mph. Also got 297mph at some point on the way home according to the recall.

I think I preferred it dropping to zero.

My recall setting always reads mega mph and rpm. Worried me the first time I saw it (with 200 miles on the odometer) - I thought the dealer's mechanics had been thrashing it.

I took a picture of it showing 297 and 9000 odd rpm before and it was surprising the number of people who asked me what it was like. Probably wondering how many bunnies I had killed

It's on 297mph and about 6500 rpm now, so not even flat out.

Just spoken to Kerridges and the new transducers have arrived this morning. They have been waiting for the new working version since February!

As my Tuscan is in for some work they will fit a new one today, so hopefully I will have a working Speedo again.

Maybe this is why all the engines go bang with such low mileages In reality they've done 60k
