Thinking of buying a T-350
Discussion
There have been a number of people asking similar questions - look at some recent threads.
You will miss the v8 burble, but IMO that's about all.
As for build quality/reliability, they're not that bad, some people had problems with early cars. One guy on here had silly problems with a later car. But you own a TVR so you know the risks.
There seem to be a lot less engines going bang recently ... or is it that every PHer has had a rebuild recently?
I've just booked mine in for it's 6,000 mile service. It's started first time, every time and runs great. My list of problems for the dealer:
- Adjust alarm sensitivity (way too low at moment)
- Adjust headlights (way too high at moment)
- Cold start needs a bit of throttle to keep ticking over for first 1/2 mile - please adjust
- Replace scratched windscreen (they scratched it)
That's it. Not what I'd call a problem car. Buy one, if you don't like it you can always sell it. Yes, you'll lose a bit of money - so don't spend silly money on a brand new car!?!

on this forum the answers and advice seem to be coming from a bunch of moany old women who moan about everything and ANYTHING. if you go onto any performance car forum you will find the same bunch of people exist for every marque and they are the minority by a long shot. if you have sold your car why do you consistantly come onto this forum and slate/destroy the generaly positive vibe about a stunning vehicle. and come on neil.b when i spoke to you on the phone this week you wernt nearly as negitive as you are on PH. be positive or at least constructive.

I'm forever in the Griff forum and the feedback is 95% positive from any enquiries relating to someone who's thinking about buying a Griff. I must confess to being pretty gobsmacked at the lack of enthusiasm (bordering on hostility) from T-350 owners. Certainly the general vibe has put me off for the time being, though, I suppose, I guesss that I may have turned up on a bad day (we all have em)!

Well, funny you should ask........nah, no comment.
Strange you couldnt recommend it highly enough when i asked whether i should get an m3 e46 or t350. Anyway my mate bought an m3 so that effectively made my mind up. Great decision best car ive had much better than my previous chimeara or griff by a long chalk.
As mentioned only downside is v8 burble a tick over but other than that, no comparison IMO.

There was a thread running last week which got rather heated as usual and those of us trying to give good feedback got trashed, so this topic happening so soon after has been met like a cold wet dead fish unfortunately.
Personally, I say go for it with your eyes open, it is a truly fantastic car, even though some people have had problems with them. As was said on the 'other' thread my rose tinted glasses are rather large, but then again I wouldn't have it any other way

Easy tiger(s).
OK, for the last time on this subject for me as I'm tired...
Pro's
Stunning looking car
Bags of blast for your money
Great sound (especially with a beefier exhaust)
Fantastic feedback through the controls
Was tidy round the bends if the surface conditions were right
Con's
Suspension needed attention
Put together by children
Several common electrical problems
Water leaks
Had to either go the the factory or TVR Power to get proper service and no courtesy cars
Targa roof was an absolute dog and I regretted getting it
I lost 13k on the car in its first year. 13-fing-k.
There you go. I'm not arsed if you disagree with any of it. That is MY OPINION of the car based on my ownership.
And Ford Mustang? Put it this way, its 20k less than my T350 cost me and its not put together with sparrow spit. Don't be a girl, I didn't ask you for your opinion on it. Maybe if you'd had one I would.
AND NickFB, yes, I did urge you to go for the T350. As I said on the last thread, I can only put that down to intoxicated optimism. The car was awesome when it was working OK, for me it just spent too much time NOT working properly (and as a consequence back and forward to Power and factory). Considering how much money I was losing I deemed it unacceptable.
Well, for my two penneth. Had two griffs' over four years. 'kin brill'. Even with a few niggles. Just changed for T350T. Jeez' have things moved on, I thought driving the griff was good, but this?? Had many sleepless nights before I bought it, worried shitless. Now I get no sleep cus' I just want to get in the garage to stare at it! Don't think I'd want to do that with an M3 or equivalent car for similar money.
Seems you've owned TVR before and may know the way these cars are. At least it will be new/nearly new and therefore have a factory warranty. Good luck.
