I posted a thread recently re 3.6 or 4.0s t350t

i have seen many pics of grigio titanio and i think if i add anthricite wheels the car will the n look and go like a complete animal. also with it being a special order and limited to only 2 of its kind i am guessing the residual should be so much better.....

any thoughts or ideas would again be appreciated.

Careful on the special order 2 of its kind thing. By amazing coincidence Peninsular have 2 T350s for sale which apparently make up 100% of the population of T350s with 4.0L engines (or something like that). If TVR will make one for you, they will make one for anyone else who asks.

I do like the dark wheel look on the right colour car, esp. with carbon fibre finished Targa Panels

Now mine has done 6,000 miles it's nice and loose and feels fast, but I'd love a 4.0 engine upgrade ... yummy. If you've got the wedge go for it!

4.0L upgrade? What bhp are you looking for? My T350 has now covered 10500miles, and had it on the Rolling Road recently. It is pushing out 383bhp at the rear wheels. This car is a 2003, 3.6 and has not had a red rose conversion.

Sounds good! Which rolling road was this?

Personally I feel the car could do with a bit more low down torque - not too much in a spinny V8 way, but enough to not embarrass the car until the engine gets to 4,000rpm. Larger capacity is shirley the best way to more torque? Obviously on the track/out for a thrash you use the revs and it's plenty quick, but sometimes I'd like not to have to adopt an S2000 esque attitude to get the car moving quicker.

Yes, I'm a lazy git sometimes.

The rolling road was in Dalgety Bay Fife, Scotland.

with the lightened bonnet and doors and the big bore tuscan s exhaust how quick do you think this car would be? or would the 405 bhp engine just be to much of a handful?(mummy)

I'd find out how much torque it gives you over a standard car and where the peak power is. Always thought that was one of the weakest aspects of the T350 - you have to wind it up quite high to get access to sweet spot. Makes those 2nd/3rd gear roundabouts a bit slower than you'd like.

You can never have too much power However, how much weight do these lightened components save? This is a GRP car anyway and the bonnet weighs bugger all. Not trying to stir anything, but I would love to weigh a std T350 and a 'lightened' one. I'm wondering if it's a bit like the Cerbera Lightweight ... the only LIGHTER part was the headLIGHTS.

I lighten my car by taking the roof panels out and leaving my girlfriend at home

Go for different wheels the spiders weigh a ton just had some Pro Comp 1's fitted and the weight saving is probabally more than the lightweight body. See (Shiney nuts anyone) thread and you will see them, the difference is around 24kilos.

Wow, that's a big weight saving. 6kg per wheel. Must weigh one of my wheels next time it's off the car. From what you're saying the TVR wheels must weigh around 10kg min!?!

If I wear my tyres down to around 2mm will that save much weight?

... am having the same dilema. My conclusion is T350T with Red Rose engine, brakes and exhaust and a close ratio gearbox (all factory options). The engine is the 3.6 with 375bhp.
I have been told that the factory will not build 4.0 T350's anymore, I suspect this was a PW special option. Also the close ratio box keeps the 3.6 on the boil nicely, apparently, combined with the extra power and torque of RR upgrade, this should be plenty for now, until I learn to drive it properly anyway...
As for colour, too subjective, but I am torn between Halcyon Midas (yellow) and Arancio Atlas (orange) both with un-painted roof panels and anthracite wheels, mmmm
